Sean Hickey Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes
25.06.2016
brilliant catch Sean
This was a special birthday present from Sean’s wife Gillian. His dad Mike had also come along for the day. The wonderful Decoy Lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue.
It was a warm spring morning with a light westerly wind. It was a Saturday and the fishery was very busy. Oak lake was free and had been fishing very well, so I decided we would go there.
Pole in the deep margins was the chosen method. It was Sean’s first time with a pole but he was soon catching, loose feeding 4mm Van Den Eynde hard feed carp pellets, with a 4mm hard pellet on a banded hook. Mike also was catching quality carp. It was an all action day without any quiet spells.
We left the bank just after 4pm Sean having caught just over 100lbs of carp. Mike also had a very similar weight.
