Clive Rainbird Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes

2 50lb nets of fish, brilliant catch Clive
This was a special 50th birthday present from Clive’s wife Evi. The wonderful Decoy lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue.
It was a warm morning with a light westerly wind. I decided that Elm lake would be a good choice.
Pole was the chosen method. Clive started at 4mts in the deep margins loose feeding with 4mm Van Den Eynde hard feed carp pellets with a 6mm banded pellet on the hook. It only took about 4 minutes to hook into the first fish a 4lb mirror carp. After that the action was nonstop. A switch to fishing up in the water at 10mts produced a good run of F1’s and carp. By 2 pm Clive had reached the maximum 50lb in each keepnet and was retuning fish as he caught them.
We left the bank at about 3.30 pm and I guess Clive had caught close to 130lbs.
