Martin Wright Masterclass Day Decoy lakes

brilliant catch Martin
This was a special Christmas present from Martin’s wife Margaret. The wonderful Decoy Lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venu. Diane the owner had kindly allowed martin to use keepnets.
It was a cold overcast morning with light rain, with a light westerly wind. I decided that we would fish on 6 Islands lake.
Pole at 10 mts close to one of the islands was the chosen method, cupping in 4mm hard feed Van Den Eynde carp pellets with a small pot. Hookbait was a 4mm elite expander pellet. It only took about 5 minutes for the first carp a 5lb mirror and then it was a fish almost every put in. Loose feeding a few 4mm pellets over the top helped keep the fish interested.
Both nets were at maximum weight of 50lbs in each net by 2 pm and Martin was returning fish as he caught them. We left the bank at about 4pm Martin having caught close to 130lbs of fish.
