Tommy Wall Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes
29.06.2015
brilliant catch Tommy
This was a special Christmas present from Tommy’s brother-in-law Simon who had also come along for the day. The wonderful Decoy Lakes near Peterborough was the chosen venue. Diane the owner had kindly allowed both of them to use keepnets.
Simon with his first fish
Yes summer has arrived. It was a warm sunny morning with just few clouds and a light westerly breeze. I decided that Elm lake would be the best choice.
Tommy with his first fish
Both anglers started in the deep margins at about 5 mts, loose feeding with 4mm hard feed carp pellets with a banded 6mm pellet on the hook. Tommy was soon catching. In fact he never stopped and did not need to change tactics as fish after fish came to the net. By 2 pm he had reached his net limit and was returning fish as he caught them. Simon had a slower start but was still catching well. A short switch to up in the water resulted in 2 really big fish, but on the bottom was more productive over the session.
joint effort
We left the bank at about 3.30 pm. I guess Tommy had caught close to 150lbs and Simon around 100lbs.
