Alex Turner Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes
17.04.2015
brilliant catch Alex
This was a special Christmas present from Alex’s partner Sandra Harris, who had also come along for the day. The wonderful Decoy Lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue, the owner Diane had kindly allowed Alex to use a keepnet.

It was a cool spring morning with a moderate easterly wind making it feel much colder. I decided that Cedar lake would be a good choice.

Pole was the chosen method, fishing at 5 mts in the deep margins, loose feeding with 4mm hard feed carp pellets, with a 4mm pellet on the hook, Sandra was the first to catch. Alex also was soon catching. It was nonstop action, as barbel F1’s and carp came to the net. A switch to double maggot resulted in a beautiful 13lb mirror carp for Alex, which we returned to the water immediately.
We left the bank at about at about 4pm, Alex having caught close to 90lbs and Sandra about 70lbs.
