George Alexander Masterclass Day Pisces Country Park

great catch George
This was a special Christmas present arranged by George’s wife Gemma. The beautiful Pisces Country Park near Welney in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue.
George with his first fish
Where is our summer? I have not seen any signs of it after returning from Ireland last week. Again it was a cool overcast morning, but water temperatures are quite high so the fish would be feeding well.
a 6ozs rudd comes to hand
Pole was the chosen method and bream were the target fish. The small rudd can be a nuisance so cupping in was the best option. After cupping in 3 balls of groundbait packed with pellets and red maggots, with double maggot on the hook, George hooked into a good rudd immediately. More rudd followed and then a big bream. It was non-stop action as fish after fish came to the net. There were so many fish that it was necessary to top up the feed every 30 minutes.
a roach about 10 ounces
We left the bank at about 4.30 pm George having had a brilliant day catching over 50lbs of roach, rudd and bream.
