Widespread and abundant, it is little wonder that roach is one of the angler’s favourite fish.

Happy to take a variety of baits, they are a mainstay for the occasional or match angler alike. Beeing fairly tolerant to pollutants, roach are to be found widely distributed throughout the UK, although a fish of 2lbs is considered a specimen the British Record stands at over 4lbs. Today we visit Pisces Fishery on the Cambridge/Norfolk border to witness a session with the four times World Coarse Fishing Champion Bob Nudd MBE. Bob explains the methods, baits and rigs that he uses and passes on some of the wealth of knowledge and experience that comes only from an expert of his stature.
