Tony Wilkinson Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes

Tony had contacted me to arrange a fishing day. His girlfriend Julie had also come along for the day. The wonderful Decoy lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue. Diane the owner had kindly allowed him to use a keepnet.

It was a cool overcast morning with a moderate north westerly wind. I decided Elm Lake with the wind on our backs would be a good choice.

Tony began the session on the pole at 10 mts cupping in 4mm hard feed carp pellets with a banded 6mm pellet on the hook, and was soon catching really well. The action was nonstop as carp and barbel were netted. A switch to the margins in the afternoon loose feeding with pellets was even better and resulted in a good run of barbel, and by 3pm Tony had reached his net limit of 50lb in each, and was returning fish as he caught them.

We left the bank at about 4.30pm, Tony having had a brilliant day catching about 120lbs of fish.
