Marcus Robson Masterclass Day Decoy Lakes

great catch Marcus
This was a special Christmas present from Marcus’s wife Julie. His son Nathaniel had also come along for the day. The wonderful Decoy lakes near Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire was the chosen venue. Diane the owner had kindly allowed them to use a keepnet.
Marcus with his first fish
It was a very warm summer morning with a light southerly wind. Weekends are always very busy, but Yew lake was free. It has a good head of big carp so I decided to fish there.

Pole at 4 mts was the chosen method, loose feeding 4mm hard feed carp pellets with a 6mm banded pellet on the hook. Nathaniel was the first to catch, it was a big mirror carp over 10lbs. Soon after Marcus hooked and landed a good fish, more carp and barbel followed. A few big fish were also hooked and lost.
We left the bank at about 3pm, Marcus having caught about 40lbs and Nathaniel over 50lbs.
